Churches

All of our faculty are involved in their home churches in leadership positions. Many have seen first-hand that business and management issues are directly relevant to the successful operation of a church.

We have been bringing in experts in particular management fields to work with us in putting on workshops specifically designed to address issues in churches.

As with our workshops for businesses, we are deliberately targeting those issues which are most difficult to address--the ones most likely to impair the long-term health of churches. 

• The first one we developed was Managing Ministers, which focused on creating and sustaining healthy board/pastor relations.

This workshop was developed with the leading organization on church management--the Alban Institute.

• The second one we hosted locally. Best Practices for Maintaining Your Charitable Status: a Tax Workshop focused on proper donation practices.

The workshop was presented by the Charities File: On Board in partnership with Canada Revenue Agency.

• The third of this series - creating and using productive staff evaluations - is in development.
