Straight Ahead offers an exciting, quality jazz experience that will leave you challenged! Community performers and Providence students come together with a “big band” sound, dazzling jazz festival audiences and church congregations with their toe-tapping, attention-grabbing pieces. This past year, the group also stirred up some local jazz energy by performing and leading music workshops at two Manitoba schools. This talented young ensemble has an obvious love of music and a desire to use it in new ways to bring glory to God. Straight Ahead will surprise you, not only with the music they play, but also with their energy and enthusiasm! Do not miss your opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind band!

Straight Ahead delivers concert-quality performances for audiences of all ages, but this group can also provide a program that can be modified to suit the needs of your event. They are particularly thrilled when talking jazz with fellow music lovers in a comfortable workshop setting. For example, an event with them can include these elements:

Ensemble Members 2011-2012

Matt Neufeld, Conductor

Matt is an up and coming band director and trumpet player from Winnipeg, MB.  Matt graduated from Providence College in 2006 and is completing further studies in music education at the University of Manitoba.  This is Matt's fifth year directing Straight Ahead.
