Music Opportunities

There are numerous performance opportunities in Music open to all students at Providence.  Both areas have large and small performance groups some of which are audition-based, and some which are classroom-based. All these ensembles perform at the college and some participate in tours that perform in various venues across Canada, the USA and the United Kingdom.

July 24-28, 2017

The Providence Summer Music Academy is for students, grades 8-12, who just love music!

This week-long summer camp will provide students with stimulating and fun instruction from our experienced faculty while allowing them to grow and learn new skills and gain confidence in their abilities as musicians. We offer instrumental instruction in strings, guitar and piano as well as instruction in voice and theatre. This week is sure to be both inspiring and fun for all young musicians.

VOICE AND THEATRE

Explore voice through acting, movement and voice instruction from our exceptional faculty of professional singers. Choir and music theatre ensembles will help elevate the student's understanding of their instrument and allow them to grow and express themselves as an artist in a supportive and stimulating environment. Master classes and musicianship classes will further promote new skills and confidence as a musician both on and off the stage!

INSTRUMENTAL (Strings | Guitar | Piano)

Discover new techniques to bring to your music playing and perform both solo and ensemble repertoire culminating in an end-of-the-week performance. Classes focus on stylistic and technical skill and will be accompanied by master classes and activities that equip students to better understand their instrument. An excellent program for both the keen musician and those who are seeking to prepare for examinations or enroll in a post-secondary music program.

This week is sure to be both inspiring and fun for the young musician. Make sure to book your spot before the early bird deadline to ensure a space available!
