There are numerous performance opportunities in Music and Theatre open to all students at Providence University College. Both areas have large and small performance groups some of which are audition-based, and some which are classroom-based. All these ensembles perform at the college and some participate in tours that perform in various venues across Canada, the USA and the United Kingdom.
Auditions for Music Ensembles - September 2014
Thursday, September 4th from 1pm - 5pm and 6:30pm - 8pm, the Music Department will be holding auditions for the Music Ensembles. All Music Students and all non-music students MUST audition on this day for any of the ensembles which includes both Worship Bands, the Chamber Singers and the Christmas Choir. For more information about any of these ensembles and the audition requirements, students may contact Tracey Sawatzky, David Sawatzky or Darryl Friesen.
Auditions for ProvPlayers and Full-Length Theatre Production - September 2014
Auditions for the 2014-2015 ProvPlayers touring troupe and Full-length theatre production will be held on Wednesday, September 10, at 6:00pm in the University College Chapel. You do not need to be a theatre major or to have a monologue memorized in order to participate. Come ready to interact with your fellow students, and have something short memorized (two lines from a nursery rhyme or your favorite song/poem will do nicely). Contact Marie Raynard for more information about auditions, theatre classes, and other opportunities.
More information on Performing Arts auditions will also be provided in the student Welcome packets or in the Registrars Office.
