Providence Graduate Appointed Alberta College President
2015-04-10
Eric Derksen is the new President of Edmonton’s Vanguard College.

An ordained minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC), he is also a Providence graduate, having earned his Master of Divinity from Providence Theological Seminary.

Rev. Derksen holds a Chartered Accountant designation and prior to his Vanguard appointment was the Director of Finance at Siloam Mission in Winnipeg. Additionally, he has served with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and with several Winnipeg churches over 18 years of pastoral and ministry experience.

“Eric’s gifts in organizational, managerial and financial leadership, connected with his passion for the development of innovative, Spirit-filled leaders, provides the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Vanguard College,” wrote PAOC District Superintendent Ken Solbrekken in a press release.

Rev. Derksen will assume his new role in July and, along with wife Candace and children Drew and Emily, will shortly move to Edmonton.

Providence graduates, students and faculty are doing exciting things on campus and in the world at large. Have a look.
