Canadian Evangelicals Forum engages local church leaders and Providence community
Representatives of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, local church leaders and Providence faculty participated in the Canadian Evangelicals Forum on Friday at the Otterburne campus.
The event, which was one of several being facilitated by the EFC, began with lunch in the Reimer Student Life Centre’s Howison Room, after which Providence President Dr. David Johnson and EFC President Bruce Clemenger welcomed those in attendance.
Over the next few hours the group addressed several overarching questions, such as, “Who are we as Evangelicals in Canada, and where is the Evangelical movement in Canada heading?” and “What gives you the most cause for concern and the greatest sense of hopefulness related to the future of the church in Canada?”
Central to the afternoon was the pursuit of discernment about where and how God is leading the church in Canada.
The EFC’s Dr. Aileen Van Ginkel, Vice-President of Ministry Services, and Rick Hiemstra, Director of Research and Media Relations, were also part of the Providence gathering.
