Providence College set to host MCAC Soccer Champions
Providence College is set to host the MCAC Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships to be held this Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25. The men’s bracket will be contested by Providence College, Steinbach Bible College, Canadian Mennonite University, and St. Boniface University. The women’s bracket will be contested by Providence College and Canadian Mennonite University.
The competition will be tight as all the visiting teams are looking to stop Providence from successfully defending their titles. The Providence men’s team is hoping to secure their 4th straight MCAC title while the Providence women’s team is looking to secure their 5th straight MCAC title.
In addition to the high-intensity soccer that will be played throughout the weekend, there are a couple of other activities and amenities of which fans should be aware. Scott Masterson, Director of Athletics at Providence College notes, “We would like to invite players and fans to check out our new Student Life Center which opened this past January. There is a cafeteria where fans and players will be able to buy lunch or there is a canteen if you just want to get some snacks, hot chocolate, or coffee. We will also be having media conferences for each team after their Saturday games and everyone is welcome to come listen to the player and coach reactions.”
The media conference room will be in the North ELI classroom which is located at the south side of the SLC. Also open throughout the weekend is the Providence Bookstore which is located in the main building to the south west of the gymnasium.
