Providence University College & Seminary invites applicants with a demonstrated track record of recruitment and yield of new students to apply for the position, Director of Admissions.

Working within the department of Enrollment Management and Student Success, this is a full-time position overseeing and providing direct strategic leadership to the admissions functions of Providence.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (min. requirement), demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, be able to direct a highly successful admissions team, and work with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will have the ability to articulate the value of a Christ-centred university education and graduate theological education.

A valid driver's license, willingness to travel (approx. 5%) and ability to work occasional evenings or weekends is critical to this position. The successful candidate will work closely with Enrollment Management and Student Success personnel to assist in planning and implementing strategies to meet or exceed new student enrollment goals, ensuring consistency in procedures, while upholding Providence admission standards.

The Director of Admissions supervises a staff of seven Admissions personnel, providing leadership, direction, research, and planning for all recruitment and admission efforts. Related experience in a leadership position within the admission and recruiting field of higher education is preferred.

Anticipated start date is July 1, 2013. This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.

Recruitment Officer

The Providence University College Admissions Office invite applications for the positions of Recruitment Officer. Providence University College is a Christian interdenominational University College. Candidates with a strong Christian value system and lifestyle, and a commitment to Christ-centred University education are encouraged to apply.

This is a 4-month term position starting in August and ending in December. Essential duty and responsibility to assist with all aspects of student recruitment and enrolment management for undergraduate admissions by performing the following:

  • To assist the Director of Recruitment and Admissions, Admissions Counsellors, and the Vice President of Enrolment Management & Student Success as required.

  • To organize and execute a contact plan to interact with as many Pastors, Guidance Counsellors, future students and other influencers as possible.

  • The Recruitment Officer is in charge of organizing her/his personal travel schedule and all the appropriate details. This schedule needs to show attention to detail and a good management of time within the travel schedule. It must also be executed in the most effective way to draw the most students to PUC/PTS.

  • The Recruitment Officer is in charge of booking events that the Admissions Office is involved in, with consultation with the Director of Recruitment and Admissions.

  • To be highly familiar with the educational programs at PUC and to provide academic advice to future students. To be relatively familiar with the educational programs at PTS.

  • To meet personally with as many applicants as possible, up to 10 weeks of travel.

    • School Visits (where several current applicants attend)


Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The applicant must have completed a Bachelor’s degree and have computer competencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. He/she must possess personal characteristics and values consistent with the mission of Providence. They should have qualities which include: friendly, approachable, patient, caring, flexible, professional, self-directed, trustworthy, committed to task, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.

Language Skills:

He/she should possess strong oral and written communication skills. Maintaining frequent contact with prospective students is essential to job success. Must possess the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, families, groups, school administrators, and the general public. Must have the ability to maintain the highest form of professionalism at all times and under various circumstances.

Physical Requirements:

Individual must have the ability and be licensed to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds.
