Residence Bursary

Providence is steadfast in our commitment to a residential, co-curricular environment that enhances and deepens the academic and faith communities.  Residence life is a vital extension of the classroom experience and an important component of the educational process.  You may be eligible to receive a Residency Bursary (Bergen, Eichhorst, Sweet or Kindred). The Residency Bursary will be automatically awarded, provided the recipient is registered at Providence University College for nine or more credit hours per semester.

Returning students who have completed:

  • 24-53 credit hours – receive $500 credit towards the cost of residency
  • 54+ credit hours – receive  $1,000  credit towards the cost of residency

Disbursement of Funds

Funds will be distributed in $500 amounts.  Disbursement of funds will occur immediately upon registering for the semester courses.  The full $500 amount will be awarded to students registered for 9 or more credit hours within the semester of disbursement.  Students approved to live in residence who are taking less than 9 credit hours will receive a prorated bursary (e.g. 6 credits = 2/3 of $500; 3 credits = 1/3 of $500).

Questions regarding the Residence Bursary?  Please speak with the Student Development Department or the Scholarships & Bursaries Coordinator.

* Terms and conditions of the Residence Bursary are subject to change. Current amounts are effective Sept. 1, 2015. Amounts for Winter 2014 remain at $700 (24-53 credit hours) and $1400 (54+ credit hours).
