Mission

A Christian academic community in the evangelical tradition, Providence teaches people to grow in knowledge and character for leadership and service.

Commentary on the mission of Providence

With 296 undergraduate students, 187 graduate students, and 36 regular faculty members Providence is the largest, self-standing Christian educational institution in Manitoba.

An interdenominational institution, Providence is governed by a Board elected from a Corporation that represents the supporters of the institution.

Each year providence stimulates more than $17 million of economic activity in Manitoba.

Steeped in tradition, the name ‘Providence’ speaks of God’s provision for the institution over its 90+ years of providing the best in Christian education.

Providence University College facilitates the exploration of knowledge and faith and prepares students to be difference-makers in the church and the world at large. University-accredited undergraduate and graduate programs elevate students into their chosen fields or serve as prerequisites for post-baccalaureate study.

Providence Theological Seminary Providence Theological Seminary encourages students to explore and develop their faith perspective in an open atmosphere of honest discussion alongside professors who have a passion for knowing and serving God. Purposed to serve the church by cultivating leaders, creating resources and enabling theological reflection, the Seminary offers graduate degree programs through classroom instruction, modules, and online formats.

Mile Two Discipleship School Mile Two Discipleship School is a greenhouse of spiritual growth. This immersive, eight-month program emphasizes biblical study, practical application and service, intentional community, and radical obedience to Jesus Christ. An annual trip to Israel is both a highlight and opportunity to translate the study of scripture into a vibrant, out-of-classroom experience.
