Feature Story: Hire of Two New Basketball Coaches

 April 17th, 2012

Providence Athletics is pleased to announce the addition of two new coaches for the 2012-2013 basketball programs. Joel Coursey is taking over as the head coach for the women’s basketball team. Coursey was the assistant coach for Patti Parker this past year and demonstrated his ability to be a great leader during that time. Joel has already been recruiting hard and is excited for the team that is forming for the upcoming year.

New to the men’s basketball program is Jeff Banman, who has accepted the role as head coach. Banman was part of the men’s basketball program, coached by Dennis Hiebert, for three years as a guard/forward (1996-1999) and when it first joined the NCCAA in 1996. Banman also brings with him a strong desire to mentor and train players to grow in knowledge and character for leadership and service.

Both Coursey and Banman will also be employed at Providence University College in the next year and will undoubtedly make invaluable contributions to the school, athletic program, and their respective teams.
