The Pilots entered their game against CMU on Wednesday at the top of the MCAC standings, a place that has not been welcome to anyone other than the Red River Rebels for the past 4 years. The Pilots were looking for another strong performance in order to win against the strong CMU team. The last meeting needed overtime to split the two teams. The Pilots struggled all night to perform on the offensive end of the court, while their defense kept them in the game. Late in the 3rd quarter the Blazers had a 12 point lead. The Pilots put in an unordinary lineup to shake things up, which turned out to be a difference maker. Providence was able to catch the Blazers and tie the game up with 1 minute left. It was not enough to win the game as the Blazers hit key free throws to win the game 52-48.

The men’s basketball team showed the Blazers their dominant offense on Wednesday night as they put up 24 points in the first quarter and 30 in the third. Providence held a lead as large as 31 points and never looked back. The Pilots improve to 3-1 on the season and stand right behind the undefeated Red Rebels at the top of the MCAC standings.  Raymond had a team high 23 points and 9 rebounds for the Pilots in their 84-59 win.

The boys were back on the court on Saturday, taking on Turtle Mountain in non-conference action. The last meeting between these two left the Pilots with a 10 point loss on the road. This game had a different feel from the start. The Pilots look a quick 10 point lead and never let it go. The Pilots ended the night with a 101-90 win. This was the most points scored by Providence this season. The next action for the basketball teams comes this Friday as they host the UofW College Wesmen at 6:00, 8:00 pm.
