Volleyball vs CMU

The Providence women’s volleyball team took to the court in their 4th MCAC league game on Friday night against the CMU Blazers. The Pilots entered the game with a 17-5 overall record. This was the second meeting between the two teams. In the first meeting the Pilots won 3 sets to 0. This time was not much different as the Pilots won 3 sets to 1. This win improves their record to 4-0 in MCAC action and 18-5 overall. The Pilots will now head to Kissimmee Florida to compete in the NCCAA Div II National tournament.

The men played in their third MCAC match of the season. They started the season with a strong performance in the Red River Invitation Tournament with 4 wins and 1 loss. They entered their game against CMU with a record of 1-1. CMU has strengthened their men’s volleyball program over the past two years and become one of the strongest teams in the MCAC. The Pilots knew that they would need to perform at a high level to compete with the Blazers. The Pilots lost 3 sets to 0, and struggled to get momentum. The set scores were 20-25, 20-15, 19-25. The next action for the Pilots will come on Fri. Nov. 21st at CMU.
