Ups and Downs

The men’s and women’s volleyball teams also played host to the Blazers this weekend. It was the women’s volleyball team that shined as they coasted over the Blazers in three sets. The men struggled to find any momentum as they lost 3-0 to the Blazers, making them 3 and 2 on the season.  With the additions of two dual sport athletes (Connor Wiebe, and Willie Goossen) to the lineup, the chemistry has not yet sunk in for the Pilots.
Sunday night played out much the same for the Pilots as the women’s team won in straight sets over the College Wesmen while the men continued to struggle to find a rhythm losing 3-0 once again. The men are now 3-3 on the season holding 4th place in the MCAC strongly over the Universite de Saint Boniface and Assiniboine Community College. The Pilots have played the fewest games in the MCAC with only 6 while the 2nd place Blazers have already played 10 games. The women’s team remains undefeated at 6-0 leading the league. The Pilots hold a 2 point lead for 1st place over the College Wesmen with a game in hand. The next volleyball action will be this Friday evening in Otterburne as your Pilots play host to the Red River Rebels, (women at 6:00, men at 8:00).
