NCCP Coaching Certification Modules

Providence University College Athletics department is happy to announce the formation of the Providence Coaching Academy. Providence Athletics has partnered with Sport MB in order to deliver NCCP Coaching Certification Modules to coaches in the local, rural communities surrounding Providence. Southeastern MB has been a difficult area for Sport MB to reach and they have had a difficult time setting up any sort of consistent location or schedule of modules for coaches in the area. Providence is very pleased to step in a provide a solution in this area.
Director of Athletics, Scott Masterson, comments on the partnership, “Developing coaches in our local communities by providing certification opportunities, professional development opportunities, and even coaching opportunities through our club volleyball and basketball programs, has been something that we have been working on developing over the past year or so. We want to be able to invest in coaches in our surrounding communities in these ways and we are very pleased to be able to partner with Sport MB in this way. We are also in the planning stages for hosting sport specific coaching certification opportunities as well as offering professional development coaching clinics throughout the year. We hosted our first volleyball coaching clinic in November and we had presenters from various backgrounds ranging from local club coaches, Providence varsity coaches, to a women’s national team assistant coach.”
