Next year’s women’s soccer team already taking shape
2017-12-05
The 2017 college soccer season may have ended just last month, but the Providence Pilots women’s squad is already taking shape ahead of the 2018 campaign.

Looking to build on recent success that included a National Christian College Athletic Association regional championship and three major finals, Pilots head coach Tory Walker recruited Langley BC midfielder Chloe Jahn in late November. A dominant midfielder with a powerful shot, Jahn will fill the role vacated by graduating senior Courtney Engel.

“I am extremely excited to have Chloe be our first signing of the 2018 season,” said Walker. “Not only does she bring a lot of skill and experience to our team, but she also has the kind of character we’ve been building our team around. Over the past few months it’s been clear from the conversations I’ve had with Chloe that she’ll be a great fit as a Pilot.”

Jahn, who helped guide Walnut Grove Secondary School to a fourth-place finish at the provincial championship last year, also captains her Langley United club team. Additionally, she was Top Physical Education Student in grades 10 and 11 and has been an Honour Roll Student since grade 8.

“I’m very excited to continue the game I love at Providence and I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the Providence family next year,” she remarked.

Added Walker: “After the success we had in 2017 we’re more eager than ever to get better and reach the next level. Chloe will definitely help us do that.”
