Women’s soccer team boosts attack with commanding striker
Having already strengthened its defensive corps ahead of next season the Providence Pilots women’s soccer team addressed its needs in attack by adding striker Zoe Kriznic to the roster last week.
Kriznic, named Female Athlete of the Year and Women’s Soccer MVP for 2017 at Abbotsford’s WJ Mouat Secondary School, has also played Metro and High Performance League soccer in British Columbia. A 6-ft striker, she’ll provide an intimidating threat of goal for the Pilots, according to head coach Tory Walker.
“This is a great signing for us,” explained Walker, who is looking forward to his second season in charge of the Providence women’s soccer team. “Adding Zoe to our group is going to bring some great stability and depth up front. I am very excited she chose to join us.”
An honour-roll student from grades 8 through 11, Kriznic will study science at Providence with an eye to a career in kinesiology. Away from the pitch she enjoys camping and hiking and ha been a part of Scouts Canada.
“I’m very excited to make many new friends and unforgettable memories with a new team at Providence,” she says.
The 2017 Pilots soccer season will begin with men’s and women’s friendly matches during Welcome Week in September.
