Jr. Pilots represent Providence, Southeastern Manitoba well at Volleyball Canada tournaments
The Jr. Pilots club volleyball teams did Providence and Southeastern Manitoba proud earlier this month, impressing at Volleyball Canada tournaments in Calgary, Regina and Saskatoon.
Most notably, the 15U Boys won their Division 1, Tier 1 National West Championship bronze medal match in three sets in Regina, finishing third out of 32 teams. The 15U Girls also competed in the Saskatchewan capital and advanced to the quarter-finals of the Division 2, Tier 2 category.
In Saskatoon the 17U Boys claimed silver medals in Division 1, Tier 4, and in Calgary the 16U Girls picked up silver medals of their own in Division 2, Tier 2. The 16U Boys also showed well in Calgary, advancing to the Division 1, Tier 1 quarter-finals.
Providence has operated the Jr. Pilots program since 2013 and its teams consistently contend for provincial and national honours. Several Jr. Pilots players have also gone on to represent Providence at university level.
