Two-time Landmark Collegiate Athlete of the Year joins Pilots women’s volleyball team
Having excelled at the high school level with the Landmark Collegiate 96ers, Kaitlyn Warkentine is set to bring her volleyball skills to Providence.
The 5’10” middle is the Pilots latest recruit, and head coach Kyle Guenther is looking forward to drawing on her athletic ability and strong character.
“Kaitlyn is a great addition to our program, both on the volleyball side and character-wise,” he says. She will add a lot of skill in the middle position, especially with her excellent blocking technique. She is also a natural leader and will add a great dynamic to our team through her character and strong faith.”
Warkentine, for her part, is excited to make the transition to college volleyball at Providence.
“I’m very excited about joining the Providence Pilots and being able to learn and grow in such a great community,” she says. “I know that God has led me here, and I’m so excited to see what this upcoming year has in store for me.”
A Graduating All-Star, Warkentine was also Landmark Collegiate Athlete of the Year for both 2014-15 and 2015-16 as well as a Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association Athlete of the Week.
