Pilots men’s soccer team adds tough-tackling midfielder
Daniel Aniakor will be patrolling the Providence Pilots midfield next season.
The tough tackler recently signed his letter of intent at Providence and will represent the men’s soccer team beginning in August. He’s interested in studying Business and Psychology at the Otterburne campus.
“Daniel is an all-around player with no real weaknesses,” says head coach Joey Passi. “He’s a solid tackler, is gritty and has great vision with the ball. He’ll be a phenomenal addition to our team.”
Aniakor, who was the top goalscorer in the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association in 2015, is a previous MVP of the high-school level Ifako-Ijaiye regional league in Lagos, Nigeria. He has also played for FC Winnipeg Lions of the Manitoba Major Soccer League.
Off the pitch he enjoys swimming, dancing and cooking.
“I’m excited to be part of the Providence Pilots,” says Aniakor. “I believe by the grace of God we’ll accomplish great things.”
