“Explosive” two-time AAA MVP joins women’s volleyball team
The Providence Pilots women’s volleyball program has recruited two-time AAA High School MVP LaDawn Friesen.
Captain of the Linden Christian School Wings as both a grade 11 and grade 12 student athlete, Friesen was also a Graduating All Star, a Provincial All Star and a Best of the West All Star. Additionally, she won provincial and national championships with the Winnipeg Cobras club team in the 18U category.
“LaDawn was one of the best volleyball players in the province coming out of high school and will hopefully continue to show her dominance at our level,” remarked head coach Kyle Guenther. “She will add to our offense as she has an explosive arm and her height will give us another tall blocker up front. On top of her skill she has always been a natural leader.”
Friesen, too, expressed her excitement at playing for the Pilots and attending Providence.
“I can’t wait for this upcoming volleyball season,” she said. “It’s going to feel so great to be back on the court again, playing in such an amazing community.”
