Sister act coming to Pilots soccer
The Providence Pilots women’s soccer team will feature a “sister act” next season.
Last week Chelsey Engel signed her letter of intent, committing to the Pilots for the 2017-18 season. She’ll attend Providence from next September, joining her sister Courtney at the Otterburne campus.
Courtney—a multi-sport athlete who also excels at basketball—starred on the soccer pitch in 2016, and head coach Tory Walker is excited to add some additional Engel athleticism.
“Chelsea is a very athletic player with great strength and speed,” he explains, adding, “Having Courtney and Chelsea together is going to be a lot of fun!”
Chelsea, too, is looking forward to representing Providence.
“I’m excited to join the Pilots and play alongside my sister,” she says, pointing out that Courtney inspired her to become part of the “amazing school and community.”
A central defender, Chelsea is captain of her St. Norbert Celtics soccer team and has been an honour student each of the last four years.
