Manitoba MVP and Athletes in Action coach to join Pilots women’s soccer team
Mihretae Will is passionate about soccer.
The 2015 provincial MVP—currently in grade 12—has already won two Zone 13 championships with the Steinbach Regional Secondary School Sabres and is a standout defender for club side Hannover Jazz. But she also likes to coach the game at youth level and has previously worked with Living Bible Explorers and the Athletes in Action under-10s.
Starting next season she’ll attend Providence and represent the Pilots in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference and National Christian College Athletic Association.
“Mihretae brings not only skill to our team but also some really great character,” says Pilots head coach Tory Walker. “She has developed into a great soccer player and I believe she’ll continue to grow to become an elite player in our leagues.”
Will, for her part, is excited about attending and playing for Providence.
“God has opened doors for me to come to Providence,” she says. “I’m exited to grow in my faith and am super excited to be a Pilot.”
Will is the second grade 12 student-athlete to declare for the women’s soccer team, and Walker says he’s already looking forward to what the 2017-18 season will bring.
