AAA provincial champion joins Providence women’s soccer team
2016-08-23

The Providence Pilots women’s soccer team has added yet another piece to what head coach Tory Walker terms a “rebuild year” for the program.

Madison Will, a midfielder out of Lorette, Manitoba, has previously served as captain of Lorette Soccer Club and in 2015-16 led the College Lorette Collegiate Scorpions to a AAA provincial title.

“I am very excited to sign Madison,” says Walker. “She will be an important player in our team from the very start and hopefully a big piece of the program in future years. This is a rebuild year for our program, but with signings like this we will be able to do more than just compete.”

Walker adds that the team he’s been building is one for the future, but that on-field performance is only part of the Athletics experience at Providence.

“We as coaches are not only looking to grow and develop soccer players, but are also working hard to grow strong women with character who can be difference-makers in the world.”

Will, for her part, says she is looking forward to the opportunity to “become a part of the Providence Pilots family.”

The Pilots women’s soccer team will kick off its season September 7 against Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Their Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) opener will be played September 10 in Otterburne against Canadian Mennonite University.
