Kleefeld goalkeeper joins Providence soccer side
The Providence Pilots women’s soccer team will kick off their 2016-17 schedule in less than a month, and in late July head coach Tory Walker confirmed the signing of a new goalkeeper.
She is Kleefeld, Manitoba’s Abigail Morran, and she’s delighted for the chance to represent the Pilots.
“Playing university soccer has always been one of my dreams,” she said. “I’m exciting and looking forward to the upcoming season.”
Providence narrowly made the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) play-offs last fall but did manage to contest a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) regional semi-final.
No doubt Morran will vital to the improvements the Pilots hope to make in the upcoming campaign.
“We are really excited to have Abigail come and play for us,” remarked Walker. “She will be a key part of our team.”
The Pilots will get the ball rolling at Aberdeen, South Dakota’s Presentation College on Wednesday, September 7.
