Jr. Pilots volleyball star commits to varsity Providence team
Hannah Sabatier is a Pilot through and through.
A product of the Providence-based Jr. Pilots program, the La Broquerie-born volleyball star became the first female athlete to progress through the club ranks to the varsity team when she signed on with the senior Pilots on May 16.
“This is a special signing for me, personally,” remarked women’s volleyball coach Kyle Guenther, who is also the Jr. Pilots Club Director. “I have been able to watch Hannah grow, not only in the sport but also as a leader and teammate the past few years. She brings a lot of talent and a great work ethic to our squad, and I know she will be a great addition.”
The captain of both her high school and club teams, Sabatier, who plays left side, was named 2014 Steinbach Christian High School Female Athlete of the Year and earned a 2016 Club Provincial All-Star designation.
“I’m excited to be joining the team,” she said upon signing her letter of intent. “The opportunity to play college volleyball is a huge answer to prayer.”
The Providence Pilots women’s volleyball team begins its 2016-17 National Christian College Athletic Association season on September 9 in Minneapolis.
