Pilots women’s volleyball team adds provincial all-star
Ally Grafe is the newest member of the Providence Pilots women’s volleyball team.
Captain of her Dakota Collegiate Lancers high school squad, the 5’10” middle also earned an all-star nod at the 2015 Provincial Championship.
Grafe, who signed her letter of intent at the Otterburne Campus on April 21, will join a Pilots outfit that won the MCAC (Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference) Championship in February.
“I am very excited for Ally to be joining our team,” says Kyle Guenther, who took over for former head coach Scott Masterson after the latter moved to the men’s side. “She will bring a lot of positives to our team both on and off the court.”
A strong blocker who plays excellent defense, Grafe also brings a track record of community involvement to Providence.
“Ally is an advocate for the ‘I Am Second’ initiative at her high school,” says Guenther. “I’m looking forward to having her at Providence.”
I Am Second, according to the organizational website, is a “movement meant to inspire people of all kinds to live for God and for others.”
